Hi everybody,
I hope you are all doing ok. What I found is helping me during lockdown is to give my days a sense of purpose and to set goals and targets to achieve. This may seem like really hard work when you consider that lockdown is an incredibly scary time and most people just want to get through the day without having a panic attack. So in no way am I saying I have the answers, I am just reflecting on what is working for me.
I like to give things meaning, I like to be working towards something. Now practically speaking my goals during lockdown are going to be rather small in scale. That doesn’t matter. A goal is a goal is a goal. I just like to have something to distract me.
I actually set some goals at the beginning of April, I’ll share what they were. Below is the list of goals and as I’m sure you’re all intelligent enough to know the ones that are crossed out I achieved and the one that aren’t I didn’t.

Some of these I will find harder than others, but it’s not a bad list of things to aim for. I know they may seem small in scale, but practically speaking I can’t do the same level of things in lockdown as I could out of it.
I will reflect back on these at the end of the month. As you’ve noticed a lot of these are things I aim to do every day. I’ve been reading a lot about habits and it’s often easier to do something every day than infrequently. I am trying to get in the habit of writing each day and it is getting easier. I actually have a habits tracker app and I record every day as to whether I have achieved what I set out to do each day.
